A Bit of Positivity for Your Feed

With the news and overall world being so negative right now, I wanted to sprinkle some positivity into the mix. I compiled a few of my favorite quotes, and I hope that they bring you inspiration, a smile or both. There is no rhyme or reason to their order!

Quotes can be so uplifting and motivational, and keep us going when things feel too heavy. Take a deep breath, and enjoy!

“Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”

– Nathaniel Hawthorne

“If you don’t heal what hurt you, you’ll bleed on people who didn’t cut you.”

-Unknown

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a better place… to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter, and bleed.”

-Ernest Hemingway

“And the moon said to me – my darling daughter, you do not have to be whole in order to shine.”

-Nichole McElhaney

“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly – that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”

-Anne Lamott

“When God prunes people out of your life, let Him do what is best for you. He sees a Judas before we do.”

-Unknown

“People talk about caterpillars becoming butterflies as though they just go into a cocoon, slap on wings, and are good to go. Caterpillars have to dissolve into a disgusting pile of goo to become butterflies. So if you’re a mess wrapped up in blankets right now, keep going.”

-Jennifer Wright

“I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.”

-E.B. White

“You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterday’s junk.”

-Louise Smith

“She will gasp for breath within the conventionalities of society, and with a sigh of boundless relief rush to the wildernesses of nature and lonely thought, throwing her soul open to the fresh fellowship of field, forest, mountain, stream and star.”

-William Alger

“She has the mindset of a Queen and the heart of a warrior. She is everything all at once and too much for anyone who doesn’t deserve her. She is you.”

-r.h. Sin

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”

-Mark Twain

“You either like me or you don’t. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself. I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.”

-Daniel Franzese

“It’s okay if you’re burning with anger or sadness or both. It is necessary for you to collapse so you can learn how phoenixes are reborn. When they burn and rise again from the ashes of their existence.”

-Noor Unnahar

“People who look down on other people don’t end up being looked up to.”

-Robert Half

“The idea behind a kaleidoscope is that it’s a structure that’s filled with broken bits and pieces, and somehow if you can look through them, you still see something beautiful. And I feel like we are all that way a little bit.”

-Sara Bareilles

“Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”

-Rumi

I’m sending you all virtual, quarantine hugs!
