Products That No One Talks About

I was racking my brain for upcoming posts, and started thinking… What about the products that we use regularly, but they never get the spotlight? The ones that might be slightly taboo to mention, or the ones that just aren’t as fun as say… an eye shadow palette?

Well, that is what I will be talking about today. Starting with feminine care. For the sake of not making all of us incredibly uncomfortable, I’m going to refer to that area as cupcake. Now you can’t say cupcake without smirking. You’re welcome!

SweetSpot Labs Gentle Feminine Wash: My Gynecologist told me that that best thing to wash your cupcake with is good old fashioned water. It’s a self cleaning, mean machine anyway, but every once in a while, I want something a little bit stronger. Ya feel me? 😛 SweetSpot has a vanilla scented one that some of my friends enjoy, but I always prefer unscented. Especially around a delicate area. It still works just as well as the scented one, and it’s a staple in my shower!

Completely Bare Bikini Bump Blaster: This is going to be major TMI, but we’re all friends here, right? 😀 I get ingrown hairs in every spot imaginable. Legs, Armpits, etc… The area that I have to the most trouble with is, you guessed it, my bikini line. I have tried waxing (ouch), threading, the at home waxing kits, hair removal creams, electric shavers, straight blades… You name it. I’ve tried it. I even had a LITTLE success with sugaring for close to six months. That was my first brazilian experience, and it was painful. But the outcome was worth it until my ingrown hairs came back with a vengeance. Imagine trying to function with what seemed a thousand boils on the most sensitive part of your body. Needless to say, I stopped sugaring, and let my skin heal. To this day, I STILL have scarring. The esthetician told me that I have coarse, stubborn Italian hair, and extremely sensitive skin. Basically, a recipe for disaster. Accepting my defeat, I found myself at Ulta searching for something that might help. That is when I found the Bikini Bump Blaster pads, and I haven’t looked back since. They’re not foolproof, but they help a LOT. I even use it on my armpits!

Shaveworks The Cool Fix: I know I said previously that I always prefer unscented, but this shave gel smells SO refreshing. If they had it in a perfume, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I have noticed that my skin responds really well when I use Cool Fix in combination with the Bikini Bump Blaster. Highly, highly recommend checking it out.

Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go Toilet Spray: I’ll never forget the first time I bought Poo-Pourri. I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond (with my 20% off coupon of course), and I felt like a spy on a mission. I wanted to get in, buy it, and get out without anyone seeing me. While I was figuring out which scent I wanted, a lady walked up behind me, and yelled, “OH, I JUST LOVE POO-POURRI! IT’S THE ONLY THING THAT WILL COVER THE STENCH!” Naturally, the whole store looked to see who was so loud. I quickly bought my lavender, vanilla spray, and ran out of there… And now I am here on the internet telling everyone that the shouting lady was right. It really does work, and if you were on the fence, you should try it.

Magnesium Oil Spray: I talked about this more in depth in my 2018 lifestyle favorites, so I won’t go into too much detail. Basically, if you have any pain or trouble sleeping, it will be your best friend.

Activated Charcoal Powder: Have you ever tried whitening strips, and then your teeth feel like a million knives shoved in your gums? Me too. Activated charcoal may not give you dramatic, immediate results, but over time, it will help whiten your teeth. It is safer, and MUCH more gentle. It’s supposed to help with bad breath even though I have never noticed a huge difference. Some people like to drink activated charcoal when they’re sick (talk to your doctor first), and you can also throw it into a homemade mask for extra detoxification.

Scalpmaster Shampoo Brush: My hubby and I both suffer from dry scalps, and the hard water in SoCal doesn’t help. The one product that has given us some much needed relief is the shampoo brush. There are SO many out there, but I grabbed the Scalpmaster because the price was right. AND the reviews were phenomenal. You can use it just to massage your head or to help distribute shampoo. I love applying a scalp relief shampoo, and gently using the brush to massage it in. It’s like a mini spa treatment right in your own home! If you have long hair, just keep in mind that you might have to keep it moving in one direction. Meaning, start from the front, and go straight to the back. If you have short hair, you can go in any direction you please.

Shower Cap: When I was younger, I swore that I would never be one of those crazy people that wear shower caps. Oops. Maybe my Grandma was on to something. Out of all the things I’m talking about today, this is the one that I think we try to hide the most. Because when you think shower cap, your mind automatically assumes: old lady. My hubby thinks I look like Paddington when I wear mine! Please don’t mentally picture that. It’s not pretty. If you have colored hair or you’re trying to preserve a blow out, you HAVE to set aside your pride, and join the fun. It really has helped my hair, and you’ll thank me later.

Foot File and Callous Remover: I recently bought the Rikans foot file, and my feet have never been softer. You can use it dry, but I prefer to scrub my feet in the shower. The things I scraped off the first time I used it… Yuck. It actually made me embarrassed that I did not take better care of my feet. I think it is especially important with summer because you’re wearing more sandals, flip flops, or walking barefoot.

O’Keeffe’s Healthy Feet Foot Cream: I have been on the hunt for a decent foot cream for a LONG time. The Body Shop makes one that I enjoy, but even that never seemed hydrating enough. Once I found out that O’Keeffe’s was cruelty free, I was excited to give it a go. After using it for just a week, I noticed a HUGE difference in my feet, mostly the heels. When I use the foot file first, and follow up with this cream, I feel like a new person!

I hope you enjoyed my weird collection of products that we all probably use, but no one talks about. If you want more of these types of posts, leave a comment and let me know!

What are some of your favorite unspoken products?

All my love,

  1. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ I need that bikini bump blaster…🙄

  2. I need that bikini blaster. I used to do Brazilian waxes, on myself, back when I was younger and could scream curse words without small children coming to inspect. Poo spray is the best! I’m the only female in my house and praise the Lord for this!!

  3. Yes I definitely would love more of these types of posts. Where no one talk about any of this stuff. I to use a foot file. I’ve been looking for a foot mask that peels off like a face mask. I have found several other foot masks. A youtuber was talking about one that peels off but have yet to find one lol it. I definitely need to try that foot cream. And OMG I get ingrown hairs around my bikini area also. I had them as a teenager went to a doctor and he said that I had crabs! I don’t guess he has ever been with anyone or noticed his SO ever have any ingrown hairs there! IDK, but it definitely wasn’t crabs!! He could clearly see that I was shaved completely!! So idk if he thought that I shaved just for that or not! But You could clearly see the hairs that were under the skin!! I haven’t talked to anyone about that besides my husband and my mom! I definitely have not talked about this on the internet!! I use summers eve wash. I would love to try what you use! I could not imagine just washing with water and nothing else, specially if it’s that time of the month! But that’s just me. Which I don’t have those times if the month anymore! I had to have a hysterectomy at 22. I’m 36 now. But still could not imagine just washing with water. But that’s just my opinion. I don’t have no problems down there. And I have been doing what I do for years! I wished that I really could skip hair washings. But I can’t if I do my hair will be oily. It doesn’t get oily not unless I don’t wash it. I loved reading your blog! Thank you so very much! I have somewhere that I can go to where I can talk and just be myself! Like I said I haven’t talked about this stuff in years and then only talked to 2 people. I was only a teenager then. I didn’t know anything about you having a blog until now. I wished that I had known before now! Sorry my response is so long!!

  4. Do the blasters have tea tree oil? My water uses that and it helps. My not talked about product is old school Cetaphil daily face wash. It doesn’t dry my skin out, doesn’t leave a residue and is good for my sensitive skin. It doesn’t foam barely at all but I love it!
