e.l.f. Tinted Lip Oil

I want to start this review by letting you guys know that I was not able to get the full collection of e.l.f.’s Tinted Lip Oil.  No matter how hard I tried, I could not get my hands on Cherry Kiss or Fuchsia Kiss.  They were never in store, and they were always out of stock.  I think they are STILL out of stock.  Oy vey.  If I am ever able to track them down, I promise to add photos, and update this post!
Ever since I bought Nude Kiss several months ago, I have been dying to test all of the colors.  As most of you know, I am a sucker for a good gloss.  I loved the idea of having something with the same look as a lipgloss… but a less sticky version.  Their lip oil claims to be packed with jojoba oil, apricot and Vitamin E.  It sounded a little too good to be true, but so far, I have been impressed.  When I was testing these, I tried my best to keep an open mind because they are not a typical matte or velvet formula.  I don’t think I would even classify them as a lipstick so that puts them in a completely different category.  They shouldn’t be held to the same standards (in my humble opinion).  They are an OIL which can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for.  I think these would be perfect for someone who enjoys basic day-to-day makeup or someone who is new to makeup.  I also think it would be perfect for someone who doesn’t wear makeup, but wants to add a touch of color (Coral Kiss and Red Kiss would be amazing choices for that).  They have a faint vanilla scent that I don’t mind since it fades away after applying it.  They are pretty light weight too, and are extremely forgiving if you are prone to creeping outside the lines.  As you can see from the bottom photo, I layered Red Kiss on top of a red Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick.  The lip oils look pretty on their own, but I was curious to see how it would pair with a lipstick.  I was pleasantly surprised, and while the oil compromised some of the matte’s durability, I LOVED the overall look.  Please keep in mind that this is a product that you will need to reapply after eating, and it fades gradually after a couple of hours.  They are extremely hydrating though, and based on comfort alone, I would give them an A+.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the e.l.f. Tinted Lip Oils, and am excited to use them more in the near future!
What is your favorite shade? ♡

  1. I just love the feeling of oils on my lips so I would probably love these. Deff the pink kiss and nude kiss- those look right up my “nude loving” alley.
